Sometimes it feels like we can only be blogging life OR living life. In this fast paced society where you have to keep up with Facebook, Instagram and many other social media outlets, it can leave you feeling like you have no time left for “real life.” Anyone else feel that way?!
We have been incredibly busy ‘living life.’ Having a baby, taking care of my family, teaching, helping my Mom with her sewing business and of course taking all of these wonderful pictures, has kept us all ‘on our toes’ constantly. Never a dull moment in the McDowell household!
Many bloggers post every day and it makes me think if I don’t post, I don’t exist. And that can be true in the business end of the world. But I have to remind myself that it is more important that God and my family come first and foremost. If I spend all of my time sitting at the computer figuring out the best way for Google to notice my business, I am losing what matters most. So I am not changing my way of thinking, more so just changing my course of action.
Since Dolly has taken over almost all of my editing workload and is helping me vamp up our website and do more posts on other social media, it has freed up my online time to be able to give this blog another go. My attempt at “Blogging Life and Living Life.”
My plan is to weekly share great photos, tips and tricks for weddings, family photoshoots, everyday life hacks and how to use your camera/phone to get better pictures. If those things sound like fun to you, then your at the right place.
Last weekend we photographed the CHAP (Christian Homeschoolers Association of Pennsylvania) Convention at the Lancaster County Convention Center.
What a great weekend of amazing speakers and vendors. We got to meet Eric Ludy who has written 21 books along with wife Leslie Ludy. They also wrote a bunch of songs including one of my favorites that we had sung at our wedding, “Faithfully.”
We also got to meet Nathan Clarkson who along with his mother Sally Clarkson, wrote the book “Different.” Sally Clarkson has been a long time favorite author/mentor of mine, so it was neat to get to meet her son.
Being able to bring along my wonderful team of photographers, Dolly & Joseph, along with our baby and little sister to babysit, was such a treat! There were some very early mornings that called for my baby in pj’s and lots of snacks.
Well, ‘real life’ is calling me and I must answer (aka my kids are making a wonderful mess). 🙂 Please drop a comment below if you have a certain question that you would like answered about your photography and I’ll do my best to address that in a future post.
Thanks for stopping by!
