Xander’s First Photoshoot

BABIES

We were so happy to do Xander’s First Photoshoot.  Joseph has watched Xander’s Daddy grow up and has been like a ‘big brother’ to him. Two years ago Joseph stood in front of a church as a Groomsmen at his wedding and two of our daughters were their flower girls. Now we are privileged to watch their love blossoming into a beautiful family.

These smiles were the same on their wedding day. I didn’t think her smile could get any bigger. Such love and pure joy!

So there it is. Xander’s First Photoshoot. And a beautiful, new little family. These photos reminds me of something that a very dear friend of mine wrote for a new Mommy many years ago. I recently got to share it with a group of ladies at a baby shower.

The future seems so distant when you’re holding that precious little newborn. You are filled with hopes and dreams, questions and prayers. And suddenly, in the blink of an eye – and a truer saying there could never be – in the blink of an eye your son is leaving home to make it on his own. It is the most natural thing in the world. It is what you have spent years preparing for. There are the secret moments of tears and the pain of missing the cherished child you poured your whole heart and soul into. But it is not emptiness and it is not without joy, as you see a young man of God sent into the world, and you know you, YOU, were a co-laborer with God to create and mold and mentor a magnificent life.

I will end this blog with the ending of the letter from above. May it be an encouragement to all of you new Mommies!

May God abundantly answer your every prayer for grace, love and wisdom. I have no doubt you will be a grace-filled, skillful and wise mother – may He make you a mom among moms! May He enable you to not take yourself too seriously, to listen to His leading, and to always remember the saying, “This too shall pass”. And lastly, I wish for you that every age will be your favorite.
