Abigail Turns ONE! I had the privilege of not only taking Abigail’s 1 year old photos, but also taking them during her birthday party! This was a first for me. Her birthday party was held at her Grandparents house and the theme was ‘hearts and pink.’ Mommy did a great job of pulling it all together and somehow still smiling and looking cool, calm, and collected!
Joel & Darla met at Summer Camp and the rest is history! Joel’s family has an evangelistic ministry called “The Wylers on Wheels” that has them travelling around the United States almost year round. They even just came out with a new music CD. So for the past couple of years it just so happens that, Darla has gone to Camp Tohiglo for a week to be a camp counselor, the very same week that the Wyler family is scheduled to be there. It wasn’t love at first site although Darla admits to thinking he was a “really nice guy.”
They started dating a year ago and have been able to get together about 5 or 6 times since then whether it’s Joel coming to PA, or Darla travelling to wherever his family might be ministering. Darla visited Joel in Florida at Thanksgiving and they took a walk on Disney’s beach and that is where they found a heart drawn in the sand and where Joel got down on one knee and asked Darla to spend forever with him. She of course said “YES!”
Today snow covers the buds on the trees. We thought spring was finally here, but winter still wants to ‘hang around’ a little bit longer.
My husband and I went to Sight and Sound Theaters last night to see “Samson” with a bunch of friends from church and then to our favorite fast food restaurant Chic Fil A to get a milk shake after the show. We were kid free for the night and spent an extra hour sleeping this morning and woke to see a very white, beautiful view out of our window! According to google weather it was suppose to have stopped at precisely 8:45…. lol! Where do they come up with this stuff! That’s okay, yesterday I laughed when I was told that it would snow 2 to 3 inches this morning. Mmmmmhmmmm… okay… it just did!
Joseph pointed out the beautiful buds on the trees and the snow just sitting on them like a little crown and I did what any photographer would do… grabbed my camera and headed out in the snow in my pajama pants! This was a very peaceful and rare experience not only because it does not normally snow on beautiful buds, but also because I would normally have children following me! I am a portrait photographer. My passion is people and capturing family life! But these moments capturing God’s outdoor beauty up close and ‘frozen’ was inspiring and absolutely breathtaking!
